Joe's Wheelchair Van 4 Independence

I am a graduate of Baldwin Wallace University and in search of a full time job. I have Spina Bifida, which confines me to using a wheelchair. This past December, I finally got my drivers' license. I am now trying to purchase a handicap conversion van for me to become a lot more independent.

Ever since I graduated from college, the job search has been a tough and long process. One of the biggest hurdles is my inability to drive myself and forcing me to rely heavily on my parents to drive me to job interviews. With a conversion van, I will be able to be more independent and active in my search for a full time job. It will also loosen the stress I put on my parents and sister to drive me to different places. My parents and sister have been great to me.

A handicap conversion van would allow me to drive my wheelchair right into the van using the ramp on the side. I then would scoot to the drivers seat where I use hand gears to drive. It is a great vehicle to be fully independent as a person in a wheelchair. Below is an example of a handicap conversion van I am looking to purchase.


I am a huge sports fan and am looking to work in sports. I worked part time with the Cleveland Browns during home games as a fan ambassador the past two seasons. I am also writing for the Cleveland sports blog, Waiting For Next Year, sharing my thoughts and knowledge all things sports. I graduated with majors in Sport Management and Business Administration.

I appreciate any help you can give in my pursuit of buying a handicap conversion and in turn becoming more independent. The independence can help boost my career search and really give the final piece to getting a full time job. Thank you!
