Vania’s breast cancer fight

Vania has breast cancer. She just found out today and understandably, she is devastated. I overheard Frank, her big brother, visibly shaken, asking his sister in disbelief as she found out the huge costs they are facing next week: 'Do we register the car or do the blood test ?' The car can wait and we can use public transport, as long as you're ok'.

As Vania cried while wondering how to pay for the mounting medical bills she was just asked to pay as Frank realised the rent is also due! 'Do we pay the rent or do we see the specialist?' They stood there quietly pondering how to overcome this, and although they didn't say much after that, their eyes told the remainder of the story. They remained floored in shock of the recent diagnosis.

When people face a tragedy or extremely hard situations, they call upon their family and dip into their savings. Alas, neither Frank nor Vania have any means to support themselves as they face this struggle. They are never overindulgent and live life supporting each other, but the cost of living is very high.

They asked me to help and I thought taking out the stress of rent and car and food for the next few months would be a huge relief for the family.
