FHS '90 honors Gianna Ascencio

I imagine that most of you know by now that our classmate Jason Asencio recently lost his daughter Gianna in a horrific tragedy recently.
Almost 25 years have passed since our graduation from Farmingdale High School. Our lives our busy. Many of us have no contact with each other. Many of us have left New York, including Jason. But, I would like to think that with all that said, we are bonded with each other.
Our friend Jason lost his 14 year old daughter. I find this unfathomable.
I just wanted to do something.... I couldn't imagine anyway to take away this families pain, but I did have the idea to commission a painting from a local artist here in Jacksonville. I thought if nothing else, they would have something they can treasure and remember their beautiful angel by.
I contacted the artist and I can get a 24x30 portait of Gianna for $800. I'm estimating framing at no more than $200. Doing the math, even if we got 100 out of 500 classmates to donate $10-15 each, we'd be in great shape.
*****THE GOAL HAS BEEN MET!!!! WOW. You are all so generous. I believe that only about 30 out of 500 classmates have donated at this point! I'd like to see if more people would like to contribute. With the extra money we can create a scholarship fund in Gianna's name. If anyone has eny ideas, please please share with me. THANK YOU.****
