Marc Miller, a unique, giving, caring, silly beyond belief kind of guy. He has a unique gift that can make anyone laugh and smile til their sides hurt!
He is a husband, a father and step father, a grandparent, a great friend and a fun co worker.
Marc was recently diagnosed with multiple myeloma, stage ll. This is a cancer that forms in a type of white blood cell called a plasma cell. Multiple myeloma causes cancer cells to accumulate in the bone marrow where they crowd out healthy blood cells. The cancer cells produce abnormal proteins that can cause frequent infections, bone problems, thinning and broken bones, bone pain, kidney failure and lowered red blood cell count.
Treatments include chemotherapy, other drug treatments, stem cell transplant, radiation, other drugs and supportive therapy.
Recovery from and a cure for myeloma are unlikely. The disease is still considered incurable despite recent progress.
Marc starts infusion on Thursday the 30th and this will take 2 hours. Lisa, his wife will not get paid to take off for Marc's treatments. The treatments and medications are expensive and it is unknown how much Marc will be able to work during this fight. I am asking for prayers, positive thoughts and any financial assistance that you can give to this remarkable man so he can focus on fighting hard and being that person that the doctors marvel at from putting this into remission!!
