Please help support Genia

Hello friends,

My closest friend’s, Rebecca Marynchuk’s, family is going through an extremely unfortunate and hard time, and we want to support them as much as we can, hopefully helping them relief some of the financial burden that is falling on their shoulders so unexpectedly.

Last week Genia, Becca’s husband, fell ill, and in a matter of days his condition deteriorated causing multiple complications, with the biggest one being a heart failure. As the best doctors at the UofM are fighting for his life, they are looking into quite extreme options, such as a heart transplant.

This all came unexpectedly and with no signs of any condition that could have caused this. Unfortunately, even the doctors are at a loss and have yet to find what caused Genia’s heart to fail.

Those of you who know Genia and Becca, know what kind people and wonderful friends they are. It breaks our hearts to see Genia so ill, and Becca trying to keep it together to support him and be there for him during this time, trying to find answers for him, arrange the best care, and face hard decisions. She is in the hospital during the day, and taking care of their 14-months baby Eva in the evenings.

Genia’s treatment is not simple, and the road to his full recovery will be long, and will require a long stay at the hospital and further home and lifestyle adjustments. We are hopeful that he will recover, because of Becca’s and the rest of their families’ and friends’ support. And if we can help them make it a bit less burdensome financially, they can then focus their energy and thoughts on what matters the most right now - Genia’s health and recovery.

Becca and Genia are very dear to me, and it breaks my heart they have to go through this! Please help me support them.
