Funeral expenses for our mother

2 1/2 weeks ago our mom presented stroke symptoms very suddenly. She got immediately flew out to UK. They did test after test MRI, lumbar puncture, brain biopsy, blood work, and Cat Scans. All we knew was one side of her brain was swollen on one side and it was diseased. Since Friday she has been neurologically declining. After a great day we thought she was improving on Thursday the 5th. She was talking a little and trying to walk for the first time in a week and a half. Since Friday her other side of her brain began to swell. Each day she kept declining neurologically. She went into respiratory distress Saturday and got put on the vent Sunday.  Her brain kept swelling every day even more to the point that she was asleep and could not wake up. Her brain was swollen so much and we were out of treatment options. We tried steroids, antibiotics, plasmapheresis (taking the bad antibodies in her blood that were attacking the nervous system with good), using sodium to take down the swelling, and craniotomy wasn’t an option because both sides of her brain was so swollen. Finally the only option we had was to let her stay on the vent and let her brain eventually herniate into her brain stem or take her off the vent. We took her off the vent this afternoon and she did not leave without a fight  

This came out of nowhere! We are all shell shocked and heartbroken. I have have already had to miss so much work this year because my son had a sudden onset illness and has had many procedures. I have no benefits and honestly have been struggling this year financially. I would not ask anyone for anything if this wasn’t the last resort. I’ve already had to miss so much this week due to being with my mom. It will be a struggle for us just to make all of our bills since we count on every penny, but we will figure us out.
