Paige's Prayer

On August 12, 2014 Paige's battle began.  After a week  of observing unusual symptoms get progressively worse, Paige's mom took her to the pediatrician.  From there she was immediately sent to the hospital and diagnosed with Acute Lymphobastic Leukemia.  Things moved very quickly after the diagnosis.  Paige was placed in ICU and given blood products to bring her platelets and anemia to a safer level before beginning treatment.  The following morning Paige had a mediport surgically implanted in her chest and chemotherapy began.  From there she endured 2 years and 3 months of spinal taps, bone marrow aspirations, oral and intravenous chemotherapy, and chemotherapy in her spine.  In November of 2016 Paige came off treatment for her Leukemia and in May of 2017 she had her mediport removed. Although she visited the clinic every 4 weeks to get blood work, her life was just starting to get back to somewhat of a normal routine. She was in school and was participating in evening activities.   Until the day that all came to a complete hault.
On September 18, 2017, after 10 months off treatment, Paige's Leukemia relapsed. The nightmare battle began once again.  Things again moved extremely quick.  Paige immediately had a spinal tap and bone aspiration, as well as chemotherapy in her spine. With these procedures, doctors comfirmed that her Leukemia relapsed not only in the bone marrow, but also in her spine.  Two days later she had a new port implanted, one that requires much more care than the previous port. It is partially implanted and partially outside of the body.  Paige has a long battle ahead, one that will  entail additional chemotherapy both in clinic and at home, possible radiation, and a bone marrow transplant.  She is having a very difficult time processing all of these changes and is in a lot of pain.  She is weak, frightened and confused, but she is strong.
Paige's Mom is not able to return to work as Paige needs round the clock care. Our hope is that we can relieve some of the financial strain they will experience. Please help us help Paige !
