I've been the fastest men's canoe paddler for the past 7 years, but that was not my goal. I want to be a World Champion. In the past year I've raced the fastest time of any US canoe paddler in a generation. However international men's canoe is the most competitive it's ever been. I am dedicated to making the Olympics next year; Tokyo 2020. However, travel, food and lodging is very expensive and canoeing's national governing body does not offer any financial help. Finally,  the racing canoe I've been using for the past 7 years needs to be upgraded. I hope to get a paddler's discount but the starting price is over $5,000.usd.  Over 3 years ago we did a gofundme for Gavin and I and friends and family were amazingly generous. THANK YOU ALL! The money stretched for a long time! Now, with a little over a year to go before Olympic Trials I need to make one more push so that I know I have the resources to do anything I need to in order to make the team.
