M & B Official Map of the City of Dallas 1911

A Colossal, Virtually Unknown Wall Map of Dallas, Published After Publication of George Kessler's Plan For Modernizing Dallas.

This original map measuring approximately 7.5 feet x 7.5 feet, is the only other large format map of Dallas published before World War I.  It reflects the dramatic growth.  Published in 1911, this map was issued shortly after the Great Flood of 1908 and the year after the completion of George Kessler's initial plan for improving the urban planning of Dallas.

Our goal is to purchase this map, which currently resides in California, and brings it back home to donate to the Dallas Historical Society.  Once here, it can be viewed by all Dallsites and used as a window into the history of our City.

We realize this is a Lot of Money, but we also know that nothing is impossible. Your contribution will rescue a great piece of Dallas History.  Your donation will be recognized as your gift to the City of Dallas and Dallas Historical Society. Your name will be engraved next to the map on the display unless you wish to remain anonymous.
