Baby Kaden, Round Three

While 6-months pregnant, my husband and I were sitting in an ultrasound appointment ready to receive new 3-D images of our son's face.... What we received instead was news that our son had a critical heart condition.
Kaden was born with a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) known as Aortic Stenosis. The disease had quickly reached a critical point during my pregnancy where the left side of his heart had nearly stopped functioning altogether. As we were quickly seen by a pediatric cardiologist, we learned more about his condition, but more importantly we learned how to take action.
That very week, we flew to Boston where an incredible team of doctors performed Kaden's first heart surgery in-utero. They inserted a large needle through my stomach and into his heart to blow a balloon in through his aortic valve to a whopping 2.5mm. His heart was the size of a grape.
We were told he may not survive. We were told to make plans for delivery. We were on the other side of the country, riding only on faith...... but this procedure saved his life. Kaden was born with a two-ventricle heart (Praise God); however this doesn't come without ongoing challenges. He received another aortic valve dilation when he was 6 days old, and he spent that full month in the hospital.
One week ago, we were told it is time for another procedure. The mitral valve now needs dilated as a result of the residual disease. We also know if this doesn't work, he will require his first open heart surgery to repair his valves. We are headed back to Boston.
Could you please help us to exceed our goal? If everyone we knew donated $10-$20 we could make a huge impact! We will take a minimum of 10% of all money raised to give directly to Phoenix Children's Hospital CVICU (Cardiac Unit). While some of the money will be used for Kaden's procedures, we have big plans to raise awareness around CHD and the benefits of in-utero surgeries.
