FBCS Youth Mission Trip to Tijuana

This Spring Break (March 20-28) I will be co-leading a team of youth and adults on an adventure to Tijuana, Mexico.  We will be serving alongside our American Baptist missionaries at Deborah's House: a haven for abused women and children where lives are changed by God's grace, mercy and a sense of healing through the sacrifice of many.

Our team will consist of 16 youth and adults from several churches in Salem, McMinnville and my home church, First Baptist Church of Springfield.  At Deborah's House we will be contributing to a current construction project as well as building relationship with the women and children thru soccer, friendship, some drumming, scarf making and probably some goofy shenanigans.

I am setting this GoFundMe up in my name but am using it to raise funds for our entire FBC Springfield team.  There will be 9 of us from Springfield joining the bigger team (including adults and youth).  For many in our team this will be their first mission trip as well as travel outside the U.S.  We are preparing ourselves by reading "not a fan" by Kyle Idleman together.  We are also doing other fundraising such as individual sponsor letters, cans & bottles, yard work, pancake breakfasts, and a Valentine's Dinner.  We have been making prorgress on our fundraising and are not relying solely on GoFundMe to raise all $4,500-, which is the total cost for all 9 of us to make the trek.

We are very excited to be making this journey together and are looking forward to learning so much about the ministry at Deborah's House as well as being knitted closer together as our own team.  Will you consider giving just a small gift (or large one!) to help us make this trip possible?  Also, sharing this GoFundMe campaign all across your social networks would be a great help and appreciated too!
