Sandy's Living Donor Search

Donation protected

The diagnoses is in, Sandy (Sandra) Brown needs a living liver donor to survive. Those are not my words, but the words from her liver specialist, Dr. Modi of the Fort Worth Liver Consultants, Baylor-Health Texas Affiliate.  Sandy is in stage four liver failure and needs our help.

We now know why Sandy’s health has rapidly deteriorated in the last three years. The challenge now is how to find a living donor.

Background
Sandy is my sister-in-law, she is a precious, sweet, loving, intelligent, compassionate woman who has a wonderful sense of humor. Sandy would do anything for anyone and has a smile that can light up a room and warm your heart. She is married to my big brother Garold. and they live in the great state of Texas. They are a loving inseparable couple and have shared 24 years together. Garold’s employer in Fort Worth has been very understanding regarding his need for a flexible schedule. She has to have someone with her all the time due to her weakness, chronic dehydration and frequent hepatic encephalopathy flair ups that frequently require hospitalization (brain fog due to her ailing liver).

Next Steps

Sandy’s Favorite Things
Outside of being a loving supportive wife, she wants to spend more time with her husband, step daughter, grand-daughter Bella, other family members and friends. And of course her little Chihuahua dogs Honey and Willie. Sandy loves to go garage sales and look for a bargain.  Sandy likes to go camping and is a fishing fanatic. She loves to sing karaoke, dance, make flower arrangements, collect crosses and wind chimes. Sandy has always been fascinated with guitars, George Strait, Kid Rock, Pink and Bruno Mars! She loves the colors pink and turquoise, and doesn’t like to leave the house without her lip gloss and sunglasses. What is Sandy’s favorite TV show. . . why it’s the Big Bang Theory of course!

Just between us:
Garold longs for Sandy to regain her life, feel better, and be able to do the simple things in life.

Her smile lights up the room and her sense of humor and wit shine through on days when she is feeling better. Sandy and Garold need more of those days!

Thank you for your prayers, donation, and joining us on this journey. If you have any tips on how to find a living donor, please let us know. We will be forever grateful.
