As many of you know, Lyric escaped the back yard on 9/21, she was found quickly but a train came by and spooked her, making her run onto a busy road and was struck before I could get her to stop.

Lyric was rushed to the closest vet wherethey saved her life and then transferred to the vet in Hattiesburg. She had a CT done on her spine and they saw severe damage done to her cord and was brought into surgery almost immediately, which took 6 hours to complete. The next day she was wrapped with a turtle shell to help stabilize her spine throughout the healing process. 

Lyric also had multiple lacerations that were stapled while in surgery. Her left back “ankle” also had torn ligaments which were finally able to be corrected a week after the injury. 

she is currently starting therapy and rehab, where she was introduced to a wheelchair and we purchased her own which should be here next week. She still requires a urinary catheter and IV but she has been making improvements each day! 

As many of you know, I am not one to askfor help or money, but this isn’t for me, it’s for her. She will continue to need therapy for weeks to come so anyone who wants to help, it’s greatly appreciated. We have currently exceeded 12k in veterinarybills and my only goal is to ensure she cankeep getting the treatment that she needs to recover the best she can.
