Lyons Medical Fund

Hi all,

Since November 1st of 2019, Lyon has spent all together 432 days at Cedars Sinai hospital dealing with inter-abdominal abscesses, very aggressive fast growing desmoid tumors, sepsis and so much more. Unfortunately he has spent majority of the time there during the height of the covid pandemic, causing him to spend most of his admissions alone with no visitors allowed.

If you know Lyon then you know that he is a fighter and not one to ever give up, he has used his time and difficulties while in the hospital to try and inspire all that he comes in contact with. There have been extreme peaks and valleys over the course of the last 2 years and he has been able to stay open minded and has learned how to accept all situations and outcomes with the same state of mind, and that is with acceptance.

Over the last 2 and a half weeks, Lyon has been diagnosed with multiple blood clots in his right leg, a Pulmonary Embolism in his right lung, and A-Typical Pneumonia in both of his lungs. He was very fortunate as he had zero symptoms of the embolism as well as the pneumonia in his lungs and they both could have gotten a lot worse had an emergency doctor not been suspicious of his elevated heart rate.

He has been treated for all of the above but is still dealing with a lot of swelling and edema in both of his legs, starting from his "Flintstone feet" as he calls them, all the way above the waist. His heart rate is still not controlled but they are making progress on breaking down the clots and getting the swelling to subside.

Unfortunately over the past 2 years, Lyon has not been able to work or just do even at times do the simplest of tasks because of his health. He is a fighter and will never give in but it's been difficult. We are so extremely grateful for all the love and support that we have received over the last 2 years
