A Word from Photographer Brooke DelRossi~
It feels like the world has stopped, doesn’t it?
The purpose of this project is to bring us together virtually when we might feel isolated. We aim to highlight the faces of our community during a time when we might not see them in passing at the grocery store, coffee shop, on the train or at the gym. Participating in this project is also an opportunity to step up and support a well deserving local charity.
As photographers, we typically spend hours every week capturing images of families in times of joy: babies, siblings, HS seniors, grandparents, events and more. Those moments of joy are still happening in homes right now. But we can’t be there to capture them.
We aim to bring people together in the community by documenting this time by taking five-minute “Front Steps Portraits” of Lynnfield residents. On special days we take a few hours to scurry around town, taking super fast images of Lynnfield families on their front steps. In exchange for these professional images, we ask our neighbors to make a donation on this page for:
Rotary Club of Lynnfield. Our Rotary Club helps support:
Good Hope Food Pantry in Lynnfield, Concerts on The Commons, Build a Bed, Reid’s Ride, Scholarships for LHS Seniors and so much more. They are always there for us, They are the Givers, The Helpers and the Best of the Best.
Photographers across the country - and even the globe - have been inspired to start their own The Front Steps Project™ in their communities. We hope to support Rotary by documenting families during this extraordinary time.
