Lyna's Emergency Medical Fund

Donation protected
I would never thought that I would start my own campaign on Gofundme. But today, my heart is heavy and I am compelled to start one for a dear friend who is in need. Lyna and I used to study together in Petra Christian University, in the same faculty. She is one heck of a character, a loyal friend, with her thirst for knowledge and books, and she is a true foodie. Our conversations always revolve around medical mysteries (her love for Dr. House), books, science, fine food, and recently cooking techniques.
Though Lyna and I were a country apart, I live in Canada, and she is in USA, distance won't keep us apart.  We still call each other, and recently we do face time and she always love to see our boys,

Yesterday, one of our friends received a news that saddened us all of us, and all of her friends. She was found unconscious on the Metro Gold Line Station.  A good Samaritan brought her to the hospital. The hospital could not reach anyone since she has no relatives in the US. Her roommate was very worried as she could not reach her and it was getting very late. Thankfully, a good nurse picked up one of those calls and informed her that Lyna is in the hospital and currently being treated in the ICU. She is unable to breathe on her own and there's a bleeding in her brain, most likely caused by a brain aneurysm.

We are hoping to be able to raise funds to cover some of her medical expenses for Lyna and also to cover Lyna's Mom's plane tickets and any expenses occured such as transportation to the hospital, her meals, and other expenses while she is by Lyna's side.  We also use the fund to fly Lyna's sister from Taiwan, so she can help her Mom while Lyna is in the hospital, and act as a translator as well for any communications that the doctors will provide.  As per Lyna's Mom request, I will continue to raise fund until the goal is met.  Once the goal is met, I will be managing the funds' withdrawal from my bank in Canada (based on what Lyna's Mom's request) for the fund transfer to Lyna's roommate -Lusie- (Lyna's Mom and Lyna's sister are staying with her now), directly to her account.

Any contribution is greatly appreciated and will count towards helping Lyna and her family in this difficult time.

“For there is no friend like a sister
In calm or stormy weather;
To cheer one on the tedious way,
To fetch one if one goes astray,
To lift one if one totters down,
To strengthen whilst one stands”
