This is Lylah Washington in her two short years with us. She unexpectedly passed on November 23, 2017, (Thanksgiving Day), due to a misdiagnosis of pneumonia. She was stripped of an opportunity to experience all of God‘s wonders due to this unreversible medical mistake.
After three visits to the emergency room, doctors realized that Lylah’s symptoms should not had been treated as a virus. Her family is now faced with this needless and painful loss despite the vigorous efforts of her grandmothers, Tonya Nelloms and Linda Baptise Washington, in finding the best medical care for Lylah.
There are no words to describe a grieving parents loss nor the emptiness of a grieving sibling. We raise our children with our mind set that we as parents, grandparents, adults, will not out live our children. We anticipate and hope that we get the opportunity to celebrate the milestones that come with a long healthy life. While we cannot understand why these tragedies do occur much less a grieving parents unexplainable ability to continue to function, we know that unexpected losses come with an enormous financial need for proper funeral arrangements. Your donation of any amount will contribute to relieving this family of financial stress and finally allow them to prepare funeral arrangements, their last farewell, to Lylah. Although accepting this unfathomable loss will continue to be difficult, your contribution will give her sister, family and friends the opportunity to move on to the next step and nurture her memory as they continue to move in to the Holidays.
I realize this may reach people who did not know Lylah or any members of my family. I hope it does. Knowing that Lylah‘s memory has reached you as you read this, brings a sense of contentment . Lylah has tragically left but not without leaving her mark in this world... Saving the lives of others. Be relentless and never quit! Always push for x-rays and bloodwork.
