Lydia's Trip to Kauai, Hawaii (HFH)

Donation protected
Towards the end of December, I was introduced by some students here at Trinity Western to an opportunity through an organization called Habitat for Humanity (HFH), commonly known as an international mission-driven group that pursues a passion for building homes, communities and ensuring that through God's hand, all who fall into poverty have a place to live. This is all a result of hurricane "Iniki" back in 1992, and as of 2017, Kaua'i Habitat built it's 137th habitat home, both a celebration and a blessing of God's faithful grace as a provider.

As apart of Trinity Western's Global Missions movement to provide young people with an opportunity to grow in servant leadership, students on campus are given a wide range of opportunities to take part in one of these missions. For 10 days beginning on February 22nd, there is a team of 15 students departing to the island of Kauai, Hawaii. Through this, students will be given a chance to work directly through and with HFH and participate directly in the construction of over 13 current projects, ranging from laying the foundation to a house to finishing the paint and ensuring it will be suitable as someones home.

As I have mentioned before, this is an extremely exciting opportunity to really actively involve myself in direct missions, as well as develop a more in-depth relationship with God. And so recently, through many hours and meetings attempting to ensure a spot on the trip, I have managed to make it on the team. I feel incredibly blessed to be able to experience first hand the work of God and I am eager to participate in the foundation and development HFH has been faithfully beginning for the people of Kauai, and how I can practically and impactfully utilize this trip to grow in awareness and spiritual strength.

As part of my involvement, I am responsible for raising a portion of the overall costs for my participation, and so far I have about $1,580.00 total left for fundraising.

Please kindly consider how you might feel called to support me on this adventure, and I invite you to also donate and support Habitats for Humanity directly by visiting:
