Lydia and Luke Medical Bills

For summer vacation, this year our children traveled up to Ohio to visit with their grandpa. Three days into the trip two of the three, Lydia and Luke, were climbing a pine tree. At the 30 foot mark the branch they were standing on broke and they pinballed their way 30 feet to the ground. Lydia was knocked unconscious and Luke couldn't feel his legs at first.
Needless to say, they got to visit the ER at Akron Children's Hospital. The verdict. Lydia has a concussion, amnesia and compression fractures of T8-T11 vertebras, she gets to wear a neck brace for 3-6 weeks. Luke has a significant deformation/fracture L3 vertebrae and gets to spend the next 3-6 months in a back brace.

All in all God was good and they did not get paralyzed or killed. It was a long drop.
The reason for this Go Fund Me is because we do not have insurance. The Affordable Care Act was not there to help us when I lost my job. We had to choose between paying our rent or paying for a high deductible insurance plan. Cobra and insurance through the marketplace both ran $2K a month with a $6-10K deductible.
The initial bill from the hospital is $41,000 plus the additional travel for Bridget to fly up the same day to help get them home. We live in Atlanta GA so having them in the hospital in Ohio was pretty stressful.
Without God arranging the funds we will be forced to declare bankruptcy and loss everything. Although I'd rather do that than have lost my children.
