Hi Everyone,
We are Joe and Jennifer Harvey. We just had our first child JR; he was born on February 2nd, 2015. We were blessed to discover early that JR would be born with hypoplastic left heart syndrome when I was 24 weeks pregnant. Since that time we have been working with a wonderful team of doctors at UVA Medical Center and planning on a sequence of 3 surgeries that JR would need to give him a functional heart.
This journey has been full of ups and downs and we anticipate that this will continue to be so. But over all the pregnancy was a time of celebration of the coming of our first child and lot of prayer for the healing of his heart.
We have been blessed in many ways through family and friends, through the wonderful care of the medical staff at UVA, as well as the Ronald McDonald House. As word has spread of JR and his condition, people have been asking for ways to help and even donate funds to assist us on this journey. And some already have done so. But we were encouraged to set up an account to allow for people a way to continue this.
We have been blown away and humbled by people's generosity, love, and concern. We certainly don't live our lives in a vacuum and through this situation with our precious boy we have seen just how far those ripples in the pond extend. By no means do we expect anything, go fund me requires us put a goal up for the fundraising. However anything will help and will be use directly for JR's care, costs for travel, lodging, and whatever comes up to support JR. Joe, Jennifer, and JR sincerely thank you and God bless you.
