L-W-O Community #eight

Hi, I am Gaynor Leech the Founder and Patient Advocate of L-W-O Community. In 2010 I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer, and I feel extremely lucky that from the start my prognosis was good. However, I was never told that the very treatment that would save my life would also leave me with a lifelong, incurable condition called lymphoedema. From the day of my diagnosis, my feelings of anger turned to a passion when I realised that there was little help or information on lymphoedema.

 

In 2013, I published our first website Lymph-What-Oedema and Community Page we now have over 4000 members, followers, and supporters. As our community has grown, we have added the following to our community:

Sadly, all this comes at a cost and without the goodwill and support from the lymphoedema community L-W-O would not be able to keep going. To survive we need to raise £1000.00 p.a. to cover website costs, stationary, printing and software. This allows us to provide support, information, selfcare tips and advice via our websites, social media and produce videos for our channels.

 

We receive no official funding, myself, and our admin volunteers receive no salary. Our time is volunteered freely and passionately so that we can improve the lives of others living with lymphoedema. No amount is too small, and any donations received are very much appreciated so that L-W-O can continue to support those of us who live with lymphoedema.
