Father's Funeral Expenses Fund

On February 5, 2015, my dad Manuel Chavez passed away at age 39 from Melanoma Skin Cancer. 

Manuel was a single parent father who left behind a seventeen year old son and his immediate family. 

Manuel was diagnosed with Stage 2 Melanoma Skin Cancer over 5 years ago. After undergoing a surgery, he was told he was in remission and was "cancer free." A few years later the cancer returned and came back as Stage 4.

Manuel started to go to City of Hope and went through intensive radiation and chemotherapy. Over the past few months Manuel started to get sicker. We went to the hospital to find out that his health was rapidly deteriorating. Doctors said that he took a turned for the worst and the cancer had metastasized to many vital organs in his abdomen. This resulted in organ failure and led to him being in a coma.

We are a small family that are facing the steep price of a funeral. We are setting up this fundraiser because we have to pay for the funeral up front. 

Any help is greatly appreciated by the family. We are trying to raise money to speed up the burial process and be able to pay for the many costs of a funeral.
