Luz's Salon: Hurricane Irma Relief

As Hurricane Irma ravaged Jacksonville,  the neighborhood of San Marco found itself underwater. After riding out the historic storm, Luz de la Guardia, local Master Stylist and award-winning Makeup Artist, was finally able to return to her salon space. To her horror, she discovered that her business was not spared from the damage. Flooding from the nearby St. John's River, combined with the sullied water of an overflowing sewage system, saw all her equipment and tools floating in three feet of befouled, stagnant water. The damage was irreparable; her supplies unsalvageable.

Luz is utterly devastated by the loss of her beloved business, and by the catastrophic damage to her long-time neighborhood of San Marco. She has had to suspend all appointments, while she scrambles to secure new premises and supplies to provide for her hundreds of wonderful clients. 

Luz has always dreamed of owning her own salon, and renting this space was a stepping-stone to achieving her ultimate goals. Help us get her five-star salon back on it's feet. Funds raised here will go towards finding and renovating a new, stand-alone location for Luz's fabulous business.
