Luv Everyday as if it were the last

I Celeste Dean am a community activist, a daughter, a sister, a loving mom and a child of GOD. I am 38 years old, a mother of 4 young daughters and I try to do my best help my community and my family with the life and time that I have been given.

First I want to say faith has been my foundation through this challenge. Faith is in everything I do and its’ my faith that strengthens me to carry out my mission to educate and empower the community with the help of my family and friend. I want everyone to know I am grateful for everything you have done to make the experience less scary.

I would like to have a conversation to speak specifically about “The C Word”… Cancer which is no easy word to hear. It’s a word that chokes you and leaves you speech less especially when they diagnosis you at stage 4. We all think of a terminal illness when we think of Cancer so we get depressed and hold our feelings in.  Not knowing how it affects us and others in our lives. We tend to shut out and with draw from the ones who love us the most and support us.

I am here to say that I not only want to live everyday as if it was my last but I want to LUV EVERYDAY AS IF IT WERE THE LAST. You never know whose life you touch and who will be there for you, until you share what you are going through, and how your story can help others.

During my process I have been positive in my thoughts, speech and action throughout the whole ordeal of having cancer because healing starts in the mind and in order to heal I must believe it to be so.

I don’t want my lesson to be your lesson. We need to take care of ourselves eat healthy, go in for regular checkups and not wait until we feel something is wrong or even worse ignoring when we know something is wrong. Remember an ounce of prevention equals a pound of cure.

My journey be it a long one or a short one has taught me to slow down and enjoy my life because life and love is all that matters. Time is to be valued because it is not promised.

I open my self to this process because life caught me unprepared.  And like I said I don’t want my lesson to be your lesson.  I have no job, and now I am unable to work, I have no life insurance, I have no money saved away to leave for my girls who are 18, 16, 14, & 12. I leave the burden on my mom to figure out how to take care of my final expenses.

So I pray I can raise enough money to help take care of my medical needs, maybe just maybe do something special with my girls and yes my final expenses.
