Luveve Community Trust was officially registered as a Trust on the 3rd of August 2017.
Our vision is to build an active and sustainable community in which everyone is valued and can play their full part in building a better informed and empowered Community.
Our aim is to first help residents of Luveve to invest in meaningful ideas where they are most needed and where they will make the most impact. We envisage a community where residents will be able to support each other and all those in need as espoused by the principles of Ubuntu/Hunhu (literally meaning I am because we are).
Our ultimate goal is to replicate our vision across communities starting with the City of Bulawayo and spreading it to the length and breadth of the country.
Bulawayo is Zimbabwe's second largest city and has a population of over
653,000. The economic crisis in the country has led to rising poverty levels in the region in recent years. Some estimates place unemployment as high as 80 per
cent, and poverty at 60 per cent.
The Luveve Community Trust has identified that there is a need to address School Drop-Outs, and Unemployed Youths who now spend most of their time hanging around popular Alcohol sales places and in worst case scenarios embracing a drug culture.
Our goal is to establish a Skills and Training Centre that also integrates teaching
Entrepreneurship skills and Home economics as one of its first key projects.
The Skills Training & Entrepreneurship Centre [LSTEC] has plans to enhance the
employability of school drop-outs (aged 16- 22) and unemployed youths (22-30) – both male and female, whilst at the same time equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to become successful entrepreneurs within the first year of enrolling on our Skills and Training modules.
Anyone can become a member of Luveve Community Trust as we welcome both
volunteers and investors from different backgrounds, regions and International
locations. It’s also easy to register online by clicking the link below:
