LunchBag Social

Lunch Bag Social is a community organization that serves the homeless of The District of Columbia. The purpose of the organization is to ignite social change in urban areas by encouraging young professionals, between the ages of 21-40, who are predominately African Americans and Latin Americans, to be excited about philanthropy and community service. Lunch Bag Social meets once per month with a group of approximately 100 volunteers to assemble lunch and toiletries bags, to be passed out in several parks in Downtown Washington and South East DC. To date, over 30,000 bags have been hand delivered and over 1000 unique volunteers have participated since June of 2016. To encourage volunteer retention, we have created a fun experience during the event, which includes a DJ, snacks and complimentary cocktails. Generous supporters, like you, are the key to our success and make it possible for Lunch Bag Social to provide local individuals and families in need with critical meals and toiletries, that are especially needed in the hot summer months.
