Free and Nutritious Lunch for Children

Hello everyone, we are the Lunch for Children International program team at Deng Fei Foundation.

We believe that every child deserves to have a childhood free from hunger.


“66 million primary school-age children attend classes hungry across the developing world, with 23 million in Africa alone (World Food Programme, 2009).” Hunger is the top health risk in the world, which kills more people than AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis combined. Zero Hunger is one of United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.


The Free Lunch for Children program started in April 2011, in China. We have raised more than $76 million USD in China and covered 304,570 children in the past eight years. We have a transparent, professional, secure and efficient way to provide nutritious meals at schools.

When we realized that a free lunch could bring children back to classroom from the streets in Ethiopia, we were determined to take this Free Lunch for Children program to Africa. By the end of 2018, our footprints had covered six African countries: Kenya, Uganda, Malawi, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Ethiopia, and helped 4,682 kids to be free from hunger at school.
