Australia Water Dreaming Quest (Carnarvon Ranges, QLD)
I honour those who have walked this land before me, Elders past and present, especially those who hold the Sacred Lore of Country on which we walk today.
The Carnarvon Ranges are the significant sacred site of the Garingbal, Bidjara and Nguri people of Australia. Carnarvon is the source of the Water systems of the Eastern board of Australia and feeds into the 6 large river basins of the Galilee Subregion. These include the Cooper creek-Bulloo river basin, Diamantina river basin, Flinders river basin, Burdekin river basin, Fitzroy river basin and Warrego river basin which is a tributary into the Murray-Darling River System.
Carnarvon is the source of the Water Dreaming in Eastern Australia.
Since colonisation, the Water Song of this region has been eroded along with the erosion of the Wisdom Way of the original people of this region. All of the Sacred Lore has been diluted and almost forgotten in which the white Australia agenda of governance has dominated.
Through this, in 2019, our rivers are sick, our reef is sick, our people are sick, our families are sick. It is time for true healing to be remembered. The Sacred Waters of Gaia know how to heal our way. We need to open our hearts, listen deeply, restore balance and pay respect, Proper Way.
The Quest
Indigenous Elders of the original families of Carnarvon, have invited Grandmother Bilawara Lee (Australian Aboriginal representative on the International Indigenous Grandmothers Council ), Luna Wood, Carol Vincent and a team of 12 Medicine Women of Gaia to journey to Carnarvon with the offering of an earth prayer to Country through the heart of Sacred Women’s Business, in a blessing of remembering connection to Country and restoring some Sacred Ways of connection, in a contemporary language of the new paradigm of 2019.
The prayer is to awaken a New Dreaming Song in the hope of restoring a connection to the Sacred mysteries of the Water Dreaming in Australia. The women gathered have been following a healing way through connection to Gaia with the support of Elders of First Nation People honouring ceremonies and medicine pathways from a variety of ancient earth based wisdoms from around the world, for the whole of their adult lives.
There is an ancient prophecy held within First Nations that when the Condor, the Eagle and the Black Cockatoo Dreaming come together, a New Earth is born. Elders from around the world are blessing this quest, with the blessing that the healing Waters of the Divine Feminine of Gaia can once again flow, be received and honoured.
This quest is to pay respect to Country, Her traditional owners and Her elders over 4 seasons (2 years), visiting and offering Sacred Business to this ancient wisdom. Each trip will be a week long residential Quest remembering connection through the Sacred Heart. The vision for this project is for Cultural Regeneration and Land-Water Regeneration through the Traditional Pathways of Proper Way.
Community Support
We have been granted residence at an original camp of the Old People and wisdom keepers of this land for the duration of the Quest. Elders will be present welcoming in Proper Way, as we surrender into the Lore of Carnarvon aiming for, and intending to nurture a deep state of connection. Irrespective of what eventuates , we bring our heart prayer to this land, asking forgiveness for our species, our forgetful ways and the damage done to this Sacred land and Her people. We will be inviting an alliance of cultural Goodwill to all who find Carnarvon home.
We are requiring financial support in order to bring this Quest into reality. We have a budget of $50K for this not-for-profit project for the first trip. This amount will support Elders and volunteer team of 15 people in transport, accommodation and food for this quest.
The first quest to Carnarvon is planned for May 2019 for our first trip so we invite a purposeful prosperity focus to realise this opportunity and invite full community support.
We are putting a prayer out into our community to support this sacred and courageous practice of healing and connection, for the good of our Country, the good of the rivers, the good of the oceans and the good of the people.
May we remember connection. May we honour the Sacred Waters. May we honour the Elders and their wisdom. May we heal our heart together in love. May this path be one of humility, integrity and Sacred Beauty. May we become a compassionate humanity of Gaia. May the oldest continuous culture of the planet Earth from Aboriginal Australia, lead us back into wholeness.
