Teacher Appreciation for Lumbini

Like most parents, I would like to do the best that I can for my kid which brings me to why I am raising funds for Lumbini Child Development Center in Little Tokyo. When I first started the journey of finding a quality preschool for my son, Tyler, I really had no idea how difficult it would be.
It almost felt like I wasn't being a good parent unless I sent my son to the 'best' preschool that I could possibly afford (or even if I really couldn't afford it, why would I want to skimp on my child?)
I visited numerous options in the area and beyond and was getting desperate. The centers I visited had at least 1 year wait lists.
Then I visited Lumbini Child Development Center. No waitlist registration fee? How refreshing! Affordable, quality care and an enriching environment? How could that be when the other preschools were charging more than double the tuition? Something must be lacking here.
While proper funding certainly helps with adding some of the bells and whistles that Lumbini does not have, what Lumbini does offer is a fun, culturally rewarding experience. The Director, Miss Leslie, has been there more than 25 years but her energy and charisma is still as contagious as ever!
The teachers have all been at Lumbini for many years. They are close knit and work well together as a team. Actually, we are all part of the same team. We have similar goals of teaching our kids in the best possible way that we can. Lumbini rarely asks the parents for monetary donations, but I want to give to Lumbini because I believe in what they are doing. Not just for the benefit of my own son, but to support the community that I live and work in. To have an affordable option for my son that I feel good about and actively recommend to others means a lot to me.
Lumbini sure could use an upgrade to their classroom supplies. They are very creative with what they have, but it would be great to give the teachers and kids a little lift. What better way to #ThankATeacher than by using this platform. It's quick and painless!
