Joni's Mental Health Presentation

I’ve been accepted to present my research in Vienna for the International Academy of Law and Mental Health..."The Globalization of the Private Prison Industry and its Effects on the Care of Mentally Ill Inmates." and "Mental Health Laws, Policies and the Treatment of Mentally Ill Individuals in Primarily Islamic Countries Compared to that of Primarily Christian Countries."

I am really looking forward to this amazing opportunity because I am very passionate about helping people who suffer from mental illnesses. Too many people face social stigmas simply because they have a mental illness. Further, those who are prison oftem times become part of a system that is not equipped to handle them and eventually they are encountered with a revolving door that needs nowhere least of all, to a place where they can find help and hopfully not return to prison...

I’ve been doing research on “The Globalization of the Private Prison Industry and its Effects on the Treatment of Mentally Ill Inmates both State-Side and Abroad.”  I have also been doing research concerning “The Treatment of Mentally Ill Inmates in the United States Compared to Countries that are primarily Islamic.”

Throughout school I have scrimped and saved but alas, I haven’t saved enough. Perhaps you can help.
