Hello Everyone,
My name is Habib Lukman from Tamale in the Northern part of Ghana. I graduated from university for development studies where I was awarded with a Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Community Development. It has always been a dream for me to study in other parts of the world to broaden my worldview on development and leadership which is very essential for community development practitioners to champion community action plans.
I was recently awarded a partial scholarship to attend the Diploma in Development Leadership program at the Coady Institutute (which is part of St Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia) starting in July 2018.
The generous scholarship is covering $13,200 of the $18,000 program cost. The remaining tuition cost of $4,800 is outside the means of my family. My goal is to raise $7,000 to cover the remainder of the tuition and my expenses in Canada for the duration of the program.
This programme will provide me with the kind of academic foundation that I need for the career I seek. I dream of pursuing my academic interest to the PHD level. Returning to my home country Ghana to contribute to national development after my course is my sole aim. I also intend to undertake teaching and research in one of the universities in Ghana. In doing so, I would be helping the country to develop its human resource needs.
I am therefore seeking financial support from Individuals, Family and Friends, and Donor Organizations to support me realize my dream of studying in the Western World. Any amount is welcome.
My close friend I met in Ghana, Tom Owen is coordinating fundraising on my behalf.
