Luke's Nicaragua Mission Trip

Dear Friends and Family,

I want to share and amazing opportunity that I've encountered this year. I'm currently in my third year attending the University of Washington and am living in the 17th Avenue House, a Christ-centered house for college aged men. My community has provided me with incredible academic and spiritual support since moving in my freshman year, while offering countless unforgettable experiences along the way. Recently, I've been presented with another unbelievable opportunity to join 20 of my housemates on a mission trip to Managua, Nicaragua.

Among the various activities our mission team will participate in during our trip are projects with local soccer and baseball clubs. Several other trip participants are conducting equipment drives to gather donations for the teams we will work with.

I've never been to Nicaragua, but if there's one thing I learned from my first mission trip to the Dominican Republic is to replace physical expectations with spiritual expectations. While I may not know what will be in store for me and my team when we arrive in Managua, I wait in prayerful anticipation, trusting that God will impact not only the communities we serve, but our team in unthinkable ways during our trip.

We depart for Managua on March 17th and will spend slightly over a week serving. Any support - in the form of donations, prayers, or positive thoughts - is greatly appreciated. I have been blessed with wonderful friends and family that have affirmed and supported me throughout all of my endeavors.
