Luke needs a new Disability Van

Luke was born with Central Core Disease (CCD), which is a rare disorder that affects muscles used for movement (skeletal muscles). Currently there is no treatment or cure for CCD.
With CCD Luke has limited muscle functionality rendering him unable to walk, and leaving him wheelchair bound since childhood.
Living in a country town Luke has limited access to public transport and therefore is reliant on being transported in a wheelchair-accessible van. His current van is 26 years old and is in constant need of costly repairs.
A wheelchair-accessible van provides greater mobility for both Luke and his caregiver. From getting to the grocery store to going to doctor appointments, a wheelchair-accessible van provides him with a quality of life and the ability to get to where he needs to go.
Sadly, a new wheelchair-accessible van comes at a high cost, starting at approximately $60,000, excluding the wheelchair lift! Luke is in desperate need of your support as his current van has no air-conditioning, limited heating and mechanically is about to pack it in.
A new van would provide Luke with several benefits, such as:
Greater Mobility: Luke is in his wheel chair 100% of the time, and due to CCD, he has no upper body strength. Therefore, it’s near impossible and sometimes hazardous for Luke to transfer from wheelchair to car seat without hurting Luke’s shoulders and legs or his caregivers back.
Saved Time: Getting Luke into a car vehicle with a ramp or lift system is usually easier and more efficient than trying to get both him and his wheelchair into a vehicle separately.
More Freedom: A wheelchair-accessible van makes the job of Luke’s caregivers simpler, which means Luke can be taken almost anywhere, and he can continue to enjoy everyday life.
