Lukas Paiewonsky Memorial Fund
Hi, my name is Justus Paiewonsky. I need some help. I've never done anything like this before. Then again, this situation is not one one plans for.
My son Lukas committed suicide in February of this year in Oslo Norway. He was 23 years old. He had been struggling for a couple of years and had pulled back more and more from his family. Almost all attempts at getting through to him were rebuffed. The few times family members reached him, he was evasive and uncomfortable. He indicated that he felt that there was something wrong with him, and he judged himself harshly for that. He tried therapy and tried medications. Nothing seemed to benefit him, or bring him back to a sense of normalcy.
In the wee hours of February 5th Lukas took his own life. He was found relatively soon after the act, and medical teams in the ambulance and hospital manage to restart his heart, but alas, it was too late. After a few days of getting him stable enough to do an MRI scan, the doctors discovered that his brain showed no activity. He was disconnected from life support a few hours later.
Due to the pandemic I have had minimal income for the last year and a half. The costs of his memorial service and funeral are quite a bit more than I can afford. Norway is not exactly an inexpensive place.
I will be forever grateful if could you find it in your heart to contribute towards easing this burden. I will strive with all of my being to pay forward any generosity shared with me and my family.
