Luis's Medical Fund For Dengue

Donation protected
Dear Friends and Family,

You may already know me all too well for creating these fundraisers, but this time I am not writing to you for a friend or teammate. This time I am asking for all of you to please help my own brother. Luis has had a steady fever of 40°C/105 °F. We finally decided to take him nearest hospital because his fever and body pain has been consistent for three days. The doctor at the emergency room took blood tests and informed us that he, does in fact, have Dengue.

Dengue is a disease caused by a family of viruses that are transmitted by mosquitoes. It is common in tropical areas, but is life threatening especially to younger and older victims.

Honestly I have no idea how to ask you guys for help without being straightforward. Ultimately, Luis and I support ourselves. We moved to Manila because the cost of living in the United States was too high and too difficult for us because we were working student-athletes. The budgeting we allotted ourselves in Manila, was planned to only last us until we graduate. Thankfully we were blessed with athletic scholarships, so that helped us survive and live a comfortable life in Manila. Other than the help from the athletic scholarship funding our school, the money we have is only enough to last us until graduation.

I told Luis he needed to be admitted because the doctor explained his platelet count is below average and is continuing to decrease. Luis told me he cannot afford it -- he actually contemplated going home because the estimated medical bills are too high for him for provide for himself. So that is why I am being straightforward in asking all of you to help him, please.

For as long as I can remember, it has always been Luis and I helping each other throughout our lives. It has literally only been the two of us after the tragic death of our mother in 2014. I tried so hard not to cry (lol) when I met him at the Emergency Room at nearly 12:00AM straight out of work in Quezon City. My cousin and I stayed with him until 3:00AM because we were not allowed to stay with him throughout the night. He is resting in a crowded room with 6 other patients. It really hurt me to see Luis in this kind of condition. We’ve fought through a lot of medical issues in the past, but I can say this is the worst so far.

Please, help my brother recover. Please help him come home as soon as possible. We will be so greatful for any donation. Any amount will help him with his medical needs.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read. I will be sure to update all of you as soon as I receive them.

Love always,
Kristina
