Hello my name is Luis Frada, a dear friend of Luis Carvalho. My dear friend Luis throughout his life has lived between Canada and Portugal. He has 7 beautiful children. In October/2024 Luis relocated with his wife Romy, and their two beautiful sons Joaquim age 8 1/2 and Lucas age 3 1/2 back to Santa Catarina, Portugal. On January 13, 2025 he flew back to Canada to resolve things from his move. On that very day Joaquim and Lucas had no idea when they kissed and hugged their father goodbye at the airport this would be the last time they would see him. Since his arrival in Canada, Luis suffered a Cardiac Arrest, and was placed on life support. Romy and the children were immediately flown back home, so that Romy could be by his side. After meeting with the Critical Care Trauma Team, it has been confirmed that Luis' quality of life is very poor. He has suffered significant brain damage, the deficits have resulted in that he would be confined to a bed with no speech, no ability to eat on his own, he would require a trachea to breathe, in addition no motor functions, that would result in him being placed in a long term care facility for the remainder of his life. This isn't the quality of life that he would want, and after having to make this very saddening difficult decision, it has been decided to allow Luis to pass away peacefully. Your contributions would be to assist with funeral costs, assisting Romy and the children to travel back to Portugal, and help them attain any other additional resources they require to transition through this difficult time.
