Luena Project! + Classrooms for our children
Hi everyone!
The Dehonian Volunteer Lay Association (ALVD) is a private non-profit voluntary association for humanitarian support.
Over the last 20 years, ALVD has developed volunteer projects in Mozambique, Angola and Timor in areas like education, health, and human promotion.
This year with the Luena Project, the ALVD, proposes to provide support in education. We will build two classrooms and make the fence wall of the Santa Margarida School in the city of Luena, Moxico province, 1250km from Luanda in Angola.
We sent a ship container on the 8th of May, full of school supplies, clothes, toys and everything needed for equipping the classrooms.
Eleven volunteers will be assigned in July and August to coordinate the construction of the rooms and the school wall and they will support teaching and literacy.
We have created this platform with the objective of raising funds for the acquisition of material for the construction of the rooms for those children who do not have classes. They only have 4 rooms and we need another 8. The photo below presents the construction of the first rooms, in 2016.
The money raised will be used according to the budget sent by the school in kwanza (currency of Angola):

Blocks --- 204000,00 KZ - 510.00€
Cement --- 453000,00 KZ - 1,132.50 €
Roof - tube and panels --- 169400,00 KZ - 423.50 €
Gravel --- 200000,00 KZ - 500.00 €
Panels / tube of 20 / locks --- 168800,00 KZ - 422.00 €
Paint --- 64000,00 KZ - 160.00 €
Transparent panels and --- 126000,00 KZ - 315.00 €
Electric material --- 153600,00 KZ - 384.00 €
