Lucy’s Hospital Bills

This is Lucy. She is 7 years old, but she acts like she’s 2 most of the time. We’ve been best friends for her entire life. She has been sick for about a week now, and upon x-raying her chest, it seems that she has fungal pneumonia. This illness, that I had never heard of until this week, is aggressive and difficult to treat. She is currently hospitalized, and once they decide on a course of treatment, she will likely need to be hospitalized throughout the treatment.

Estimates online say that treatment for this type of illness can be $2,200 - 8,500. Unfortunately, we have exceeded the low end of that estimate already. I do not know how much more I can afford at this point, so I’m asking for your help. I do not want to imagine my life without her. She’s the best companion I could ask for.
