Lucy’s cycle challenge-50miles (now 100)in 25 days

Donation protected
WE HAVE DONE IT!!!! 150 MILES COMPLETED 50 MILES WAS OUR INITIAL TARGET WHICH WE MOVED TO 75 MILES AND COMPLETED IN 10 RIDES BUT SHE HASN’T STOPPED!! THREE DAYS TO GO AND ALREADY AT 150 MILES.

For those of you who have forgotten me as they’ve not seen me for a while, my name is Lucy and I am 6 years old and during lockdown I have had lots of opportunities to ride my bike around where I live. What I haven’t had the opportunity to do is see my grandad who is being well cared for at Paradise House care home. You might know that my grandad has Parkinson’s disease. This means he can’t run about and play with me and sometimes he can’t talk to me but I still love him lots and I really miss him.

I have decided that I want something good to come out of lockdown. Although mummy and daddy say grandad may never be cured, I want to help other people with Parkinson’s disease. I actually want to be a neuroscientist when I am older to do just that! I also want to help the residents in the care home where he lives continue to have fun.

I am therefore going to put my cycling skills to the test and will try to complete 50 miles cycling by the end of the month of June 2020. That gives me about 25 days to pedal my little legs off! Any money I raise will be donated to two special places.

The first will be ‘Parkinson's UK’ who support and help families who have experience of Parkinson’s disease and  also research and try to find medicines and cures to get rid of this horrible disease.

The second is to the ‘Residents Fund’ at Paradise House Care home where my grandad is so well looked after. It is a super place where grandad gets everything he needs and the money raised means they will be able to have special treats and special days.

I hope you can help support me with my cycling challenge. As little as  £1 can support them as every little helps. I will post pictures of my challenge and the distance will be recorded on two different cycle computers just to check I do the correct distance. Mummy or daddy will always be riding with me!

Thank you lots and lots for your support. Xxxxxx

Please note:

Because I am raising money for two special groups, we have to do a personal fundraising page. This means that the money is paid into a bank account and then mummy has to send the money out to the correct groups. She will of course, put the information on once the final money is sent to show it has gone to these amazing places.
