This site has been set up for Lucy and her family as they bring her home from Stanford. Updates can be found here, and as a family friend we have set up this site with 100% of funds going directly to Stephen and Grace. They will continue to provide updates.
They are now back in Reno from Stanford. This fund will help offset the out of pocket medical expenses they continue to incur while they care for Lucy.
On Monday, December 29, 2014, Lucy was careflighted to Stanford Children's Hospital in Palo Alto, CA. Mom and Dad were driving close behind and met her there. Lucy has been diagnosed with a rare metabolic disease which prohibits her from metabolizing a key protein called glycine, causing seizures, respiratory problems, and hypotonia.
This diagnosis is scary, but there are rare cases of babies who have overcome this condition. While doctors advise that this is unlikely, we believe that it is already in motion within her. We know that Lucy is that miracle.
And we have great news! We will be bringing Lucy home within the week. We are absolutely amazed by her, and can't wait until we can finally give her the constant family, love and snuggles that we've been craving. We are so honored to be her parents. She has already caused amazing inspiration and transformation in us (and many others).
Our last prayer request focused on respiratory health. Shortly thereafter, Lucy was taken off her breathing tube and has been breathing on her own with ease ever since. Your prayers work!
Current prayer focus:
- Charismata: "to cause to live" - That part of the body that is not functioning to its fullest needs an invasion of life; it needs energized, living spirit energy ministered to it to catalyze life and provoke life and healing in that part of the body.
- Enzymes activating to remove excessive glycine
- Visualize glycine flowing out of her system like a river!
