Meet Lucky, a 12 year old hound mix who has become unlucky in the past month.
At the beginning of March, Lucky was attacked by a bear in his own back yard. Although he was in pain he arrived at the vet clinic with a wag of his tail and a happy attitude. Getting away with only cuts and scratches proved his luck! His story even made the local news. Global News Okanagan
But now his luck may have run out. On Saturday April 16th, Lucky tumbled down a 15ft cliff while hiking and severely broke his left front leg. Although he was in pain, he came into the vet clinic with a wagging tail and good spirits, again! Nothing could bring this dog down! Without surgery his leg is not functional and he cannot walk. A specialist veterinary surgeon is willing to repair Lucky's leg on Wednesday April 20th, but now it comes down to cost. Lucky's owners cannot afford surgery to help fix him. There are children and other pets at home that would be devastated to lose Lucky. Although he's an older boy, his happy spirit and endless love make him a great surgical candidate.
