Say hello to Lucky! Sunday night around 9:30 my dear friend Nora Britton was driving down Rt 5 heading back to the barn to finish up for the night, in a dark spot on the road she spotted something in the middle of her lane. Thankfully she was able to swerve around, but as she passed she saw it was a little orange cat that had obviously been hit by a car. At first Nora assumed he was dead as that is a high speed/high traffic spot, but she turned around and drove back to double check. As she pulled her car over she saw him lift his little head. So she grabbed a blanket from the back of her car and went out, scooped him up, and off to the emergency vet they went! After spending the night being evaluated and treated in the ICU, it was determined that the poor little guy has a broken jaw and femur, along with some other cuts that were able to be stitched up. While the jaw should heal on it's own, his leg will require surgery. The surgery is estimated to cost $4000 and Nora has already paid over $1500 for his intial evaluation. Lucky will also need to be neutered, vaccinated, recieve flea and tick preventative and he requires a special diet for his broken jaw. Please help Nora help Lucky any size donation is appreciated.
