Help Lucky The Lab Run Again

Lucky Rothenberg, our almost 2-year-old Charcoal Lab, is the glue that keeps our house together. He's the sweetest pup we've ever owned and brings so much joy to everyone who comes in contact with him. While at the dog park this past weekend Lucky was enjoying some of his favorite activities: playing with the other dogs, fetching tennis balls and swimming in the lake. When he came out of the lake it was apparent that he could barely put any weight on his right hind leg.
When we got home it only became worse. After a trip to the animal emergency hospital we discovered that he had torn his ACL and will need surgery if he ever wants to run or jump again. He's not even 2 years old yet and it's so tough to watch him hobble around on 3 legs and then fall over with frustration since he can't put any weight on his injured leg.
The reason for this funding campaign is to cover the cost of the recommended surgery, a procedure called the tight rope repair. It's a modified extracapsular technique and is ideal for larger, active dogs. Total cost is between $3,500-$3,900 and includes surgery, anesthesia, hospitalization, and medications. The additional funds will be put towards post-surgery rehabilitation which will be a 4-month process.
