Lucinda's Journey to a Cure

My eldest sister, Lucinda, has breast cancer. This has shaken the entire family, as I am sure the "c-word" does to most people when it hits close to home. She does not live near any of us but luckily she has a strong network of friends.
Before I ask you to give, let me tell you a bit about her.
Lucinda has been married 30 years. She and her husband have found a common love in animals, namely dogs. It started with a Dachshund named Oskar, then Sadie was added, and then Tucker. Each one had a unique story and a wonderful personality. From there, the passion for dogs bloomed. They became not only dog owners, but dog advocates, trainers, and breeders despite their day jobs. Lucinda and her husband have given so much to the dog community. The amount of dogs they have rescued, trained, and saved number in the thousands. They have been commendated many times for their work in rescue and promoting spaying and neutering.
Lucinda has since retired from her "day job" as a scanning electron microscopist and has been working with dogs full time. A prime source of income for her family has been teaching classes in dog obedience and agility as well as continuing her volunteer rescue work.
She loves her work, but she will have to put it on hold while undergoing treatment. This, partnered with the knowledge that she has a tough fight ahead of her, has made the future somewhat daunting. Income she had counted on over the next few months will not be coming in. Yes, her husband is employed, but losing the 2nd income is challenging at any time, much less during a health crisis.
I am asking you to give. I am asking for any amount you can spare. I know times are tough for many of us but this is a cause you can believe in. If you have ever seen a stray and wonder what happens if you don't take it in, well, people like my sister happen. She is the giving soul who takes in that stray and heals it and finds it a home. She deals with the injured, the elderly, and the "difficult" dogs that people throw away. She spends her time and her money in a selfless manner to help others.
Today, she cannot take in the strays because she herself needs help. Please donate so that she can focus on healing and get back to what she does. She makes a difference and now, so can you.

P.S. Before I appear to serious here, I want to note that Lucinda has a biting sense of humor and if cancer could be cured by saracasm, she would be in high demand.
