LUCHA CONTRA EL CÁNCER DE MI PAPÁ

En Marzo del presente año tras una abrupta pérdida de peso,mi papá asitió al médico para realizar un chequeo general e identificar la causa. Tras varias visitas a distintos especialistas y diversos exámenes se determinó que tiene un tumor denominado carcinoma de células escamosas poco diferenciado, grado II B en el pulmón derecho. EL cual es urgente tratar por su tamaño y ubicación, antes de que genere metástasis.
Al conocer la noticia comenzamos a evaluar las opciones y sabiendo la situación que se vive en neustro país (VENEZUELA) donde realizar cualquier tratamiento para este tipo de enfermedades resulta imposible porque no se encuentran los médicamentos y no hay insumos, decidimos trasladarlo a Barcelona España, donde resido, para garantizar que al menos que la falta de medicamentos no será un factor que reducirá sus posibilidades de sobrevivir a la enfermedad.
Hemos comenzado los trámites para que sea atendido a la brevedad posible e identificar cual sería el tratamiento más idóneo, sin embargo lamentablemente al tener tan poco tiempo en el país no puede contar con el servicio de asistencia médica pública, pues debe relizar primero trámites legales para regularizar su situación, lo que representa una pérdida de tiempo vital para superar la enfermedad.
Al comenzar los estudios nos fue comunicado que el tumor no es operable por encontrarse pegado a la columna y midir 10cm , por esto el equipo médico propone tratar el tumor con inmunoterapia, dicho tratamiento es de un costo muy elevado que también conlleva gastos de hospitalización de día, exámenes de sangre e imagenologia mensualmente. Es por su alto costo que me veo en la necesidad de pedir ayuda para poder costear estos gastos médicos y brindarle mejor calidad de vida y una espezanza a mi padre.

On March this year, after an unexpected and radical loss of weight, my father went to the doctor to check on his health. After visiting different specialists and doing diverse tests on him we found out that he has a squamous cell carcinoma on II grade B in his right lung. This cancer needs to be treated immediately due to its size and location in order to prevent a metastasis.
When we heard the news, my parents and I start considering our options having into consideration that the situation in our country (Venezuela) is pretty hard because at the moment, and for a long period of time, we are scarce in all kind of medications and treatments. The best thing to do was to move him to Barcelona, Spain (where I am currently living) in order to, at least, ensure the medication won’t be a problem to overcome his condition.
We started with the documentation for him to be assisted as soon as possible in a health institution and identify which is the best treatment. However, because of his lack of time in Spain, he cannot use the public medical assistance and he needs to fix first his condition in the country.
His doctor let us know that this tumour is inoperable, it is really close to the spine and is 10cm long. That is why the medical group proposed to treat him with immunotherapy but this treatment is really expensive and also adds cost of hospitalisation and continuous tests to check up on him. It is because its big costs that I am asking for help today. I just want to bring him hope and a decent quality of life.
