Lucas's mark

This is Lucas. Next month he will be 2 years old, along with his twin brother, Bryce. When Lucas was a year old he was diagnosed with a rare disease known as Rhabdoid tumor (RT). In short it is a an extremely aggressive pediatric cancer that arises in the kidney, liver, and other soft tissues of the body. Lucas underwent chemotherapy to see if that would eliminate the tumor. It was looking really good after his treatment was complete and he was able to go home.

Unfortunately, a couple months later he was tested and the RT had come back completely. His prognosis is bleak. The doctors say there is nothing that can be done; that his little body cannot handle another bout of chemo and even if it could the RT would most likely come back.

His parents have been advised to make him as comfortable as possible for the time they have left with him, which is ranging from weeks to months. As can be completely understood, they have taken time off of work to spend these last moments with Lucas. 

I know everyone out there that reads this will be touched.  No parent should have to prepare for the death of their child.  I can't imagine what torture that would be; waking up every morning and wondering if it is your last day with them. 

The family that is going through this is truly wonderful. They always have a smile and are extremely gracious. The only reason they are allowing me to start this GoFundMe is in hopes that the money raised can help with not only medical bills but also further cancer research for this disease.
