Our dear friend Lucas Gravitt died of cardiac arrest on Sunday, November 22, 2020 at the too young age of 35.
Lucas was dedicated to his friends, his colleagues, his students and his sweet dog, Max, often going beyond to help us all. He loved to travel and made sure as many of his students could travel to Germany as was possible. Lucas was also dedicated to his own education and studied at Georgetown College (BA and MA) where he was particularly influenced by his participation in the band.
As we mourn our loss, we would like to help Lucas’ father, Mike, pay for funeral expenses and celebrate Lucas’ life after the risks associated with the Covid-19 pandemic subside. We kindly ask you to contribute whatever you can. Any funds left over will be donated to the American Association of Teachers of German and to the Band Program at Georgetown College.
