Luca's Voyage to Health

My cousin Luca was born on August 28th, 2017 in Xalapa, Mexico with a condition called spina bifida, a birth defect where there is incomplete closing of the backbone and membranes around the spinal cord.
Unfortunately, Luca has the most severe type of spina bifida called myelomeningocele or open spina bifida.
Two weeks after he was born Luca had a surgery to close the opening of the backbone. But even with this surgery, he has difficulty with bowel movements as well as no sensation in his feet.
At six months old, he was diagnosed with luxation in his hips, requiringa hip brace 23 hours a day.
During the first year of his life, Luca has been undergoing physical therapy and hundreds of medical appointments, only to find out that his condition has grown worse.
Recently, doctors informed my cousins that Luca has swelling in his brain and needs surgery to relieve this pressure. Without surgery to alleviate this pressure it is feared that Luca will go blind or even worse could stop breathing. This surgery needs to happen as soon as possible.
We desperately need help in raising money for his surgery, which will cost $15,000. Anything you can do to help, would be greatly appreciated. Every dollar will count towards giving Luca the life he deserves.
