Luca Watson’s Companion Dog DKD

Luca was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder at the age of 3years. We and DKD believe a companion dog would be very beneficial for Luca.
Luca’s common difficulties are social cues and interaction, repetitive behaviour, sensory seeking, craves deep pressure and obsessive interest, anxiety and communication difficulties.
We are so excited as Luca has an opportunity to have a companion dog provided through Dogs for Kids with Disabilities ( DKD Facebook page). DKD is a non-for profit organisation and relies on donations to provide their incredible service. DKD improves the lives of children with disabilities by training and placing dogs with kids to provide comfort, companionship and assist with anxiety, meltdowns and general life.
It costs DKD $16,000 to raise and train an companion therapy dog.
In order to have a companion therapy dog we would like to fundraise $8,000.
