Help the Purtzer Family

Justin is an amazing husband and wonderful first time father. Early Friday morning Justin woke up with chest pains and was taken to the emergency room. After many test and hours spent in the hospital he was then transferred to Mercy Sacramento where he under went further tests. This is when he and his family were told that Justin had suffered a heartattack. He is only 31 years old. Justin isn't a smoker or drinker and is a relatively health man. So it was determined by his doctor that his heart disease is congentinal and due to nothing he has done. It is just genetics. Due to the severity of his heart disease Justin had to remain in the hosiptal over the weekend and unfortunately missed his daughter's first Christmas and Christmas with his loving family.

On Monday Justin went in for major heart surgery that required a quadruple bypass. While his surgery was successful and he is recovering, he will have to live with the effects of this heart disease for the rest of his life. Now the family is faced with the stresses that come with the necessary lifestyle changes and costs of the emergency procedure.

Unfortunately at age 31 no one expects or is even prepared to pay for a major procedure such as heart surgery. Even with insurance the out of pocket expenses to them will be tremendous. Justin will be on medical leave, reducing his income for 3 months and this amazing little family will also be taking another financial hit because Justin's wife Samantha will need to take 6 weeks of leave of absence from work to help aid in his recovery. Since they just had a baby this year it is likely that leave will be unpaid as she has already taken her FMLA benefits in the last 12 months.
